Her Story
Star Daye incorporates a collaborative, client-centered approach to support the unique needs of each individual on their mental health journey. With experience working with individuals and families since 2012, she brings a compassionate understanding of how various mental health challenges affect people of all ages. Star recognizes that the therapeutic relationship is foundational to effective therapy, as each client's life journey and experiences are distinctly his or her own.
In therapy, Star focuses on creating a supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings while developing practical skills that extend beyond the therapy session. She has extensive experience working with children, teens, and adults, with particular expertise in anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, mood disorders, and autism spectrum conditions. Star is passionate about helping clients build upon their existing strengths to develop resiliency and a stronger sense of self. Through her genuine, supportive feedback and tailored therapeutic approach, she empowers clients to become the person they desire to be.
Rather than directing the therapeutic process, Star believes in true collaboration with her clients, allowing them to take ownership of their progress and feel proud of their personal growth. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), and Solution-Focused techniques, while always adapting her methods to meet each client's specific needs and goals.
As a parent of a toddler, Star understands firsthand how life challenges can affect the entire family unit, especially during periods of adjustment and transition. This personal experience informs her empathetic approach to supporting families through various life stages and challenges.
Outside of work, Star enjoys watching movies, spending quality time with her family, listening to audiobooks, and traveling to new places. Her commitment to continuous learning is reflected in her ongoing doctoral studies in Counselor Education and Supervision.
